Q. What is an Epoch Home?
An Epoch Modular Home is a built in sections from top quality building materials - inside our facility, where the products are protected from the weather and vandalism. The home is 90% completed at the factory, transported to the site, set on the foundation by the Epoch installation crew, and completed by Atlantic Homes.

Q. How long does it take to get a new home delivered from Epoch?
Once a completed order is received, accepted and acknowledged by Epoch, a tentative delivery date can be assigned. Under normal circumstances, delivery can be made in 4-5 weeks from that date. At peak demand, lead times may increase. However, with Epoch's plant capacity, long lead times are the exception rather than the rule. As the home is being manufactured, we will prepare your site for the home.

Q. How does the quality of an Epoch Home compare to a "stick built" home?
An Epoch Home is "stick built!" In fact, the building materials and methods used are equal to or better than other stick built (site built) homes. Because Epoch homes are built in a controlled indoor environment, we can maintain a greater degree of control and consistency over our quality. An independent, third party inspection agency, which frequents our plant, insures we are building according to state and national building codes.

Q. Is an Epoch home more energy efficient than a site built home?
YES. Because Epoch Homes are built from "the inside out," we have access to areas that a site builder does not. For example, since our electrical outlets and drywall are applied prior to the exterior sheathing, we can caulk around the electrical outlets to prevent air infiltration. This is just one of the many cost saving features of an Epoch Home.

Q. Can I modify a standard Epoch floor plan?
YES. Epoch prides itself on customizing individual floor plans to meet your personal needs. If one of our plans does not suit your taste or needs, show us a plan that does - and we'll modify it to our building system. There are also many standard options and upgrades for you to choose if you so desire.

Q. What about handicap features?
NO PROBLEM. All of our floor plans can be modified for handicapped accessibility.

Q. Can I tour the facility to see how my home will be built?
YES. We encourage you to visit our facility and take a personalized tour. Simply call our office and we'll schedule a private appointment.

Q. Does an Epoch Home comply with all the building codes?
YES. Not only are Epoch Homes built to comply with nationally accepted building codes including BOCA Basic Building, Plumbing and Mechanical Code, as well as the National Electric Code, but each of our homes is blueprinted and built differently in accordance with the State code in which it is being delivered.  This unique feature assures that your home will meet your local codes, not just National codes.  Ask ask our competitors if they do that! Almost none of them do.  This is important because if a home is only built to the national codes, it may not comply with codes in your area, which means it may need to be retrofitted to local codes.  It also means building inspectors have the right in some cases to tear open walls to inspect internal structures.  We do not have these issues, because our homes are built to comply with local codes.

We continually monitor changes in the State codes for the six states in which we build.  Because we are one of the few true custom modular builders, and we limit our service area to six states, we are able to provide this important and unique benefit.
